FÊTE IMPÉRIALE 2012 – Highlight of Summer Ball Season in the Spanish Riding School
On Friday, June 29th, 2012 the Spanish Riding School will once again be transformed into a stunning summer ball location. For the third time since its launch in July 2010 the Fête Impériale will invite guests to dance for a good cause. The net proceeds will contribute towards safeguarding and preserving the traditional breeding of Europe’s oldest cultural horse breed.
And although the charitable purpose of safeguarding the Lipizzaner breed takes centre stage, the Fête Impériale is to become not only Austria’s most beautiful summer ball but also an international highlight.
Managing Director Elisabeth Gürtler and her team will transform Vienna’s oldest ballroom into a breathtaking summer ball location which will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on Austrian and foreign guests alike.
Unique Imperial Setting
On Friday, June 29th, 2012, whilst the Lipizzaners enjoy their yearly summer vacation at their training centre Heldenberg in Lower Austria, the entire Spanish Riding School will be transformed by the Fête Impériale. Not only the famous Winter Riding School which will feature the traditional ceremonial opening, but the Stallburg and the open air Summer Riding School will be used as ballrooms. A cocktail reception held under St. Michael’s Cupola for holders of VIP, box and table tickets and elegant promenades connecting the ballrooms round off a magnificent evening programme. There will be an abundance of bars and stalls offering refreshing drinks, cool wine and sparkling champagne and plenty of comfortable opportunities to rest tired feet and relax from dancing to the music of live orchestras and DJs.
Any number of details ranging from the music, the debutantes’ headdress, bales of straw restyled into relaxing couches, to the skilful inclusion of the horses will ensure a very special atmosphere.
About the Fête Impériale
On June 29th, 2012 the Fête Impériale will take place for the third time. For one night the School’s Managing Director Elisabeth Gürtler and her team will turn the Spanish Riding School into Vienna’s most beautiful ball room. They will be supported by an Honorary Presidium, a Patroness Committee and by Thomas Schäfer-Elmayer who will once again oversee the opening by the Debutantes Committee. The net proceeds will contribute towards safeguarding and preserving Europe’s oldest cultural horse breed and hence the continuation of the Spanish Riding School itself.
