André Rieu is simply a musical phenomenon like no other; a true king of romance, together with his 60-member Johann Strauss Orchestra (the largest private orchestra in the world), André has created a worldwide revival of waltz music and staged spectacular extravaganzas that are unsurpassed.
On stage André`s incredible musical skills, passion and charisma make for a magical spectacle. His romantic and funny concerts are the only ones where people regularly jump up and dance in the hallways. It`s not unusual for André`s faithful American fans to laugh, cry, clap, dance and hug each other as they listen to the beautiful waltzes, film scores, spirituals, musicals, folk songs and marches and the sounds of André`s precious Stradivarius violin from 1732. His concerts are the perfect mix of exciting, romantic, solemn, soulful melodies and of course André`s great sense of humor combined. It`s all about feelings!

Austria’s largest event venue was built between 1954 and 1957 based on designs created by world-famous architect Roland Rainer. It opened on 21 June 1958. Hall D, which holds up to 16,000 people, has been the centrepiece of the facility ever since. At 92m in length, 17m high and with flexible stage elements, the hall is unbelievably versatile, with a wide variety of possible set-ups. The roof has an area of 10,000m2 – the largest of any entertainment venue in Austria – while inside, the ceiling can hold some 100 tonnes of technical equipment for cutting-edge, large-scale events. “A UFO has landed in Vienna” was the headline that greeted the opening of Wiener Stadthalle in 1958. Over 55 years later, Roland Rainer’s unique architectural design has stood the test of time and still provides a fitting backdrop for an almost unlimited range of events – from concerts, fairs and sporting events to TV shows and corporate functions.
