The Journey to Middle-earth
The ominous sounds of Mordor and the sound of the Black Riders, the beautiful lyrical melodies of the Elves—the renowned Cinema Festival Symphonics transform reality into a musical setting of Middle-earth. Howard Shore composed much of the music for the film trilogies “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit,” for which he received an Oscar, Grammys, and a Golden Globe. His themes strike a deep chord as the Ring unleashes its power and corrupts the bearer of all power: a parable with great relevance to our times. Accompanied by violins, trumpets, and timpani, the ensemble, soloists, and choir transport the audience to the Shire, through the landscapes of Rohan, and all the way to Mount Doom. The melodic tones of flutes and violins are complemented on screen by green landscapes and dark scenes. Animations developed specifically for this production add an extra dimension to this symphonic event. Enjoy your time in Middle-earth!
“The Last Goodbye” and “Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold” are performed by powerful soloists who lend a personal touch to these well-known songs. “The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit – The Concert” is a fantastic evening of a very special kind. Rich in sound, atmospheric, and unique!
The performance features original visuals, not film clips.
