The Swiss writer Robert Walser, translated into some 40 languages, is a world-renowned poet. His interest, however, seems to lie not in grand interpretations of the world, but in the seemingly small things at the margins of existence. It is there, at the edges, that his poetic walks take place, walks which Susan Sontag described as “obsessively transforming time into space.”
