Midsummer Night Festival

To end the season in style, we will transform the Salzburg State Theatre and the Mirabell Gardens into a dreamy midsummer night’s garden for two days. The midsummer night’s festival is framed by a gala that presents artistic contributions from all four divisions on Friday and Saturday night. In between, a full-day theatre festival held on Saturday at Mirabell Palace, in the Mirabell Gardens and at the Salzburg State Theatre will enable visitors to take a look behind the scenes with guided tours, e.g., through the make-up, costumes and technology departments.

Our four divisions present a programme that has been developed especially for this occasion as well as excerpts of previously published works. Furthermore, the drama, ballet, music theatre and young theatre divisions will offer exclusive sneak peeks of plays that the audience can expect in the next season.

Together with the Mozarteum Orchestra, the ensemble will make our dreamy midsummer night’s garden resound with music – two enchanted midsummer days and nights filled with theatre magic on and off the stage, featuring drama, music and dance.
