Disney’s THE LION KING – Vienna
One of the world’s most successful musicals is coming to Vienna: Just in time for the 30th anniversary of the original Broadway production, Disney’s “THE LION KING” arrives in Vienna. From November 2027, the world-famous musical will be presented as a long-running production in Austria for the very first time.
At the heart of the story is the young lion Simba, who must find his place in the “Circle of Life”. Through friendship, loss, responsibility and the courage to face his own past, an unforgettable story unfolds that has captivated audiences around the world for decades.
Since its premiere in 1997, more than 130 million people have experienced the musical. A total of 32 international productions have been staged in more than 100 cities across 24 countries. Musically, “THE LION KING” combines Western pop music with the powerful rhythms and sounds of Africa. The legendary songs were created by Sir Elton John and Tim Rice, complemented by music from Lebo M, Hans Zimmer, Mark Mancina and Jay Rifkin.
