Under the Christmas Tree - Quartet Harmonies - Opera in Roma

In the splendid setting of St. Paul’s Within the Walls Church, the Barbara & Claudia Quartet brings to life a refined and intimate musical journey entirely dedicated to the magic of the holidays. On stage, the perfect alchemy between piano, double bass, and drums weaves a unique
sonic dialogue that crosses different genres and atmospheres. The concert opens with the suggestion of the Carol Medley and the geometric grace of Pachelbel's Canon, then blending into the warm jazz sounds of It Don't Mean a Thing (Ellington) and My Favorite Things (Rodgers). The journey continues through the sound architectures of Palladio (Jenkins) and the
virtuosic energy of Mr C C (Hiromi), touching upon the evocative film scores of Howl's Moving Castle (Hisaishi), the delicacy of Guaraldi's Linus & Lucy, the solemnity of Morricone's Mission, and the touching melody of Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (Sakamoto). The path concludes with the festive liveliness of Sleigh Ride (Anderson) and a joyous Christmas Celebration, offering the audience a moment of pure enchantment under the tree.

St Paul's Within the Walls (Italian: San Paolo dentro le mura), also known as the American Church in Rome, is a church of the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe on Via Nazionale in Castro Pretorio, Rome. It was the first Protestant church to be built in Rome. Designed by English architect George Edmund Street in Gothic Revival style, it was built in polychrome brick and stone, and completed in 1880.

The church contains mosaics which are the largest works of the English Pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones.
